FOSS.my 2008 is Over!

FOSS.my 2008 is Over!

Posted by aizatto at Nov 20, 2008 11:45 AM |

Holas FOSSers!

It sure has been a while hasn't it?  Just two weekends ago, we ran the inaugural FOSS.my conference!  Boy it was really Awesome!

This conference was made possible by the kind sponsorships by APIIT, Microsoft, Mixi, Mozilla, Novell, ByteCraft, and Inigo.

What kind of conference would it be without awesome speakers?  Do give them a hand!

Do give the organizing team a big thanks.  This also goes out to the volunteers who helped during the day, FOSS.my wouldn't have been a
success without you!

How should you thank em? well perhaps email, identi.ca, twiter, leave some grafitti on their wall, or even poke em!

Don't forget to thank yourselves for making this possible.  That's right, give yourself a pat on the back, without your support, the energy in the environment wouldn't have been the same.

There was such a great response from the community, that we were largely unprepared for the numbers!

If you were one of the unlucky ones unable to attend the event, do have a look at our gallery . Don't worry, slides and video are going up as soon as possible, so you will hear from me again.

If you happened to take photos, and uploaded them to Flickr, do tag them with "foss.my" and "foss.my 2008", and it'll instantly join the
collection!

I would like to thank you for your patience during the event, as not only was this the first conference I've ever run, but also I was unprepared for the enthusiastic response.

It would be appreciative if you could fill in the feedback form so that we can improve on this fantastic conference, and come back with an even more awesome conference!

So you are probably asking yourself, "what next?"

You've all been asking for it, and they're back.  That's right, the MyOSS Meetups!  On Thursday, 4th December 2008, FOSS.my delegate
Mohanaraj will be speaking on "Securing your Web API with oAuth".

Want to help the meetups?  Have something to talk about? Wanted to present at FOSS.my, but was unable to?  Don't worry, just fill out
this form and we'll get back to you!

I have also create a FOSS.my facebook group for upcoming FOSS Malaysia related events

Till next year, see you at FOSS.my 2009.

Hope to see you sooner at a MyOSS Meetup.

Regards,
Ezwan Aizat Bin Abdullah Faiz,
FOSS.my Committee Member

On March 8, Malaysia and US officially launched a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) and negotiations on the agreement will be intense in the months ahead as the US is pressing to complete the pact by the end of the year, to take advantage of the US President’s ‘fast track authority’ that ends in mid-2007.
