The Shift to 'Open': Boost or Brakes for Innovation and BusinessLeading ICT companies worldwide are moving towards open standards and open source. Open source is making significant headway into areas that were once the stronghold of proprietary software. Is this a fad or a genuine change in the IT industry? How will this affect your development practices and the skills that you need to acquire? Will we see more or less innovation as a result of greater cross-company and cross-border sharing of information formats and software source code?
