When is the next exam?
Why are we doing this?
This is a done as a measure to build Linux and FOSS capacity in Malaysia.
How much does it cost?
The usual cost for these exams are USD 150 (approximately RM 525), but as Dr Nah is the volunteer Malaysian proctor, we can have it much cheaper. The cost of the local exams are RM 200 per paper.
For example, if you are taking LPIC 101 and LPIC 102, your total cost will be RM 400. This price may change over time but it is always kept to a minimum as this is NOT a profit making initiative.

- LPIC 102
- LPIC 201
- LPIC 202
Note: LPIC 201/202 are not being offered by the LPI yet for the paper based examinations.
How often do you conduct the examinations?
The examinations are conducted every 3 months. To be notified of the next examination date, please sign up to the lpi-announce mailing list.

What resources do I have to study for the LPI?
These are some resources:
What do candidates need to bring for the exam?
The candidate need only bring along pencil(s) and eraser and possibly a pencil sharpener (in case he needs to sharpen his pencils) as pencils, erasers and sharpeners ARE NOT provided. Candidates are not allowed to bring in any writing paper to the exam hall, they can only bring in with them the pencils, erasers and sharpeners. (While pens are allowed they are not recommended as it is not easy to make corrections to the multiple choice answers if a pen is used.)
What is the format of the exam?
Questions can be either multiple choice or “fill in the blanks” type. Candidates have to answer ALL questions on the answer sheet provided. The LPI website does provide examples of questions. See: http://www.lpi.org/en/lpi/english/certification/the_lpic_program
When will candidates be notified about their results?
The results will be emailed directly to the candidates by LPI (possibly within 4 weeks).
